Due to some of the news of late, I figured now would be the best time to release my newest 8" custom Dunny, a one of a kind LED-lit custom exploding supernova Dunny. Stands 15 inches tall and plugs into standard US outlet.

And, best of all, it's being given away.

Funko Storms In with SHARKNADO

Even if you don't own any other Funko POP vinyl toys (what's wrong with you?) you need to own this one.  How could you not?  It's a vinyl toy featuring a shark IN A TORNADO, based on movie about SHARKS IN A TORNADO.  Why am I even still writing this?  Any sane person would have already clicked the link and ordered a case of these bad boys just to have one in every room of the house.

Undead Baby Dragon & Bitemares Plush Kickstarter by Vamplets

Baby Bitemares plushes by Vamplets
Undead Baby Dragon plush by Vamplets
We have had a long relationship with the fine people at Vamplets... I'm not sure when we actually met G-Ra, the spokesgoth for Vamplets, but she has our same fun, sort of absurd attitude. We've been fast friends ever since! Lately Vamplets has successfully funded a few different awesome plush Kickstarters for new products, and this one looks to be another success... with 20 days more to go and just $400 more to raise, it's pretty much a done deal!

And it's no wonder, those Baby Bitemares (top pic) are ridiculously cute... you can grab one for just $15 in their Kickstarter. The adorable Undead Baby Dragon (above) is just $35.

I picked up a pink Baby Bitemare for my niece, who currently resides in Tokyo (yes, my niece is cooler than me already).

You can also grab a comic book for $5, or a graphic novel and comic book set for $20.
In one of their earlier Kickstarters, I picked up a Ghost Pony plush, which is probably also going to be shipped to Tokyo if I can convince myself to part with it. Super cool, creepy plush. In this Kickstarter, you can grab a saddle for your Ghost Pony for just $12, or if you missed the last Kickstarter, you can pick up the full Ghost Pony with Saddle set for $35 (pictured below).

Love these products. These are great gift ideas, and the prices are really reasonable, especially given the fact that they include US shipping.

Check out the latest Vamplets Kickstarter! You'll be sorry!

oh I mean you WON'T be sorry! heh.

The Bat Man and Robin by One-Eyed Girl
So I was at the Vinyl Thoughts show in Brooklyn, mingling and checking out all the cool artwork when someone from the gallery walked by me and placed a big red dot ("SOLD!") next to this piece: "The Bat Man and Robin" by One-Eyed Girl... a new name, to me at least. This was one of the pieces that all the attendees commented on (along with the cute little blue booby-toucher piece by IROC Toys). I think a few of us just nodded to each other- "yeah, of course this one just sold"- the overall aesthetic was just really well-conceived and the piece has so much character. I love those crinkled eyelids! And the paintwork is so delicate and intricate. Great stuff.

A little while later I was back standing near this piece again when someone leaned over to take a close-up picture, so I asked him if he was the buyer. No, he said, he was here with the artist! And I turned around and there was One-Eyed Girl (aka Kasey)! Not often that I get to meet new toy artists. Anyway, Kasey is super nice and clearly very talented so I let her know I'd be interested in covering her pieces on this blog.

Here's what Kasey has to say about "The Bat Man and Robin:"
The Bat Man and Robin are a 7" Trikky and a Micro Foomi.  I had a lot of fun making these dudes and proud of the outcome so i hope you can share!

So, here ya go: One-Eyed Girl. Look for more cool customs from her soon!

New Resin Pieces by Hugh Rose: Walrus & Wooden Monkeys

8" Walrus figures by Hugh Rose
4" Walrus figure by Hugh Rose

I was very pleased to hear from the UK's Hugh Rose the other day- seems he's been busy learning how to prototype and cast his own figures! Hugh's custom pieces are always eye-popping and it's really cool to see him now working on his own designs.

The figures above are 8" and 4" resin Walrus (Walruses? Walri? I'm gonna look that up). The smaller one (above) is called 'Scrimshaw' and is etched and ink-washed in the old-timey traditional whaler style. At top is the 8" Walrus figures with hand sculpted, unique faces and tusks.

Below are Hugh's Wooden Monkeys which are 8" resin pieces, all uniquely painted.

To purchase any of Hugh's new pieces, email him at

CHOOSE YOUR FATE Custom OTMFG 3DRetro Robot by Ersico

The 15th was what, Tuesday?  This little guy barely had enough time to hit the mailbox before Eric Sorrells started putting his custom magic on it.  And I really dig the spin he gave this minifigure from October Toys and 3DRetro.  Giving the head a green paint app changed the whole concept of the figure, from clockwork monster to a "lil green wormy pilot" of a steam-powered suit of armor.  The metal finish, detailing and other tweaks Eric gave this piece really make it pop.  You can add it to your shelves now, at the Ersico webstore.

Jesus H. Waterpipe Drops 4/20 at 4:20 for Super Series Easter Sunday

Jesus H. Waterpipe by Forces of Dorkness for Super Series Sundays on 4/20

Genesis 9:3 - “Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything.”

…and so on 4/20, falling this year on the Christian holiday of Easter, Forces of Dorkness and Tenacious Toys bring you “Jesus H. Waterpipe” a.k.a. “The Bong Christ”.

Each piece is a solid resin hand painted graven image topped with a fully modern polycarbonate tube. The piece stands 7” tall and 3” wide. Each piece is hand made and will cost $40 plus shipping.

A note from Scott:
This unit is not functional as an actual waterpipe. Not because FOD can’t make one this small, but because using one this small is a stupid idea. More than likely you’ll just end up with a mouthful of water every time…with that said, it is watertight and can be used for things such as a bud vase, the world’s smallest column aquarium, a XXL shotglass, a spittoon, a jelly bean holder... the options just go on and on and on.

Jesus H. Waterpipe will drop at 4:20PM EST on 4/20 on the Tenacious Toys Super Series Sundays page.

Toxa - Custom Rhino Dunny by Haus Of Boz

TOYCON UK Leftovers from A Little Stranger
ToyCon UK 2014 happened over the weekend and lucky for the rest of us who were not able to make it to the event, left over stock is being made available online. This time, A Little Stranger (Holly) has a few items left over from ToyCon UK. A limited edition print titled "My Beloved Monster and Me" is up for 20 GBP plus shipping (about $34 plus shipping). TOYCON UK Leftovers from NEMORI

Image of WINDERMERE - 3" custom resin
For all those who were unable to attend TOYCON UK this past weekend, artists are starting to put left over stock online. One of those companies, NEMORI (the joint venture with Cris Rose and Lunabee) put up these great resin Windermere Owls. Priced at 25 GBP each plus shipping, or roughly $42 plus shipping, these resin owls are roughly 3" tall and are an original sculpt. All the owls are uniquely painted and some even come with a nifty hat.

Another great thing about the NEMORI world, is the story behind all the fun little creatures being created. Be sure to head on over to the NEMORI online store and pick up one of these, and possibly a Brightfiled Bunny or Burntwood Bear.

SNEAK PEEK: DeKorner's Kookie No Good Sofubi by Scott Tolleson

Normally, Fortune Cookies are a perfect way to finish a good meal at a Chinese Restaurant -- a crunchy treat with a happy and hopeful message.  Forget all that. Kookie No Good is a wayward, sad, mischievous fortune cookie or perhaps a 'misfortune' cookie.  Whether he is upset at the world or just upset that he's food, he's certainly not looking to bring you good fortune.

Starting with De Korner owner Kevin Cao's desire to make a 'bad fortune cookie' toy, Kookie No Good was designed by prolific artist Scott Tolleson. The appeal of this adorably upset sofubi toy lies in his priceless expression with furrowed brow, and pursed lips. The Kookie No Good 2014 retailer edition features a cookie color base vinyl with red, black, pink and white sprays. Manufactured in Japan, the figure stands 3.5" and is articulated smoothly at the neck.

As always, hit me up if you are interested in this piece. They retail for $35 each.

Godot Cosmonaut by Sergey Safonov up for preorder now on his site

Sergey Savonov's Godot Cosmonaut custom set is available for preorder now on his website here.

Here's what Sergey shared with us:
April 12 is a Cosmonautics day in dedication of the first manned space flight made on April 12, 1961. As you remember, in 2011 we did a Kickstarter campaign to celebrate 50 years of Gagarin's flight and produced a Luno figure. So let's keep the tradition alive.

This year, special holiday release is a Godot Cosmonaut with his little helping Rover friend. If you're attending to ToyCon UK today, you can see them in person at booth.

This year I am not at the Con, but you can see my toys and ARTRANSMITTE booth and special secret release at Taylored Curiosities stand.

Godot Cosmonaut is the most complicated release to date, it's made of 26 parts and three different plastic materials. I'll be making these to order, so If you want to add this set to your collection, please preorder yours.

Thank you for your support and Happy Cosmonautics day!

One of the pieces in the show was produced by Kevin Derken, titled Death Head Krote. Kevin combined a Makerbot Replicator 3D printed skull and the legs of a 1/20th scale Maschinen Kreiger Krote. The end product turned out pretty nice.
