Meltdown Dunny 8" by Chris Ryniak

Celebrate a Happy Valentines day with a new 8" dunny by Chris Ryniak. Using Chris' Apocalypse Series Dunny design, Kidrobot has produced an 8" version of the Meltdown Dunny. The Meltdown Dunny is going to come in 4 different GID and translucent colorways, limited to 500 pieces for each color.

Meltdown Dunny

Of course, Kidrobot is not going to make it easy for the completists out there because each colorway is going to be offered by a different type of retailer. The Green edition is going to be sold exclusively by Kidrobot retail stores, while the Yellow edition is going to be the online exclusive for Kidrobot.com. International retailers are going to sell the Orange edition and the US retail stores will get the Pink edition. I personally am looking forward to the Pink edition and this 8" Dunny. Hitting the store on February 14, each Dunny is going to retail for $75 (£60 UK, €69.60 EU).

Kidrobot Major Lazer Edition

Guns don’t kill people… lazers do.
1984: the Olympic Games are held in LA, President Reagan runs for re-election, the AIDS epidemic runs rampant, and underneath it all, the secret Zombie War rages. One secret soldier is rescued from the fray, his arm gone, but his spirit strong. He is given an experimental lazer prosthetic and hired by the CIA to continue his fight against the forces of evil. He fronts as a dancehall nightclub owner from Trinidad, though in truth, he is a badass Jamaican keeping the world safe from vampires and monsters, while partying hard and tweeting.
Major Lazer Kidrobot is an 8-inch vinyl homage to the renegade soldier turned CIA operative. A collaborative project of the Grammy nominated producer Diplo and DJ Switch, Major Lazer debuted with the album Guns Don’t Kill People… Lazers Do in 2009, followed by Lazers Never Die in 2010. A new album, titled Free the Universe, featuring Diplo as the solo executive producer, is out February 2013. Major Lazer Kidrobot has a uniquely sculpted head and lazer arm to properly capture his eighties commando style and signature prosthetic. The real Major Lazer is hitting the road 2/28 for a 43 city world  headlining tour beginning in Toronto.
Retailing for $50 US, this ‘bot hits the stage February 19 at Kidrobot stores, kidrobot.com, and select retailers worldwide.

This Mascot is designed by MAD.

Red Mutuca's Special Guest for Superish is... Chauskoskis

The final reveal for Red Mutuca's "Superish" Dunny mini series brings the special guest of the series, Chauskoskis, aka Walter Jacott. Walter created a wonderful character named "Super Weenie".

From Red Mutuca:
Wonderfully sculpted and painted, the real awe-inspiring note on this is — of course — that they are captured mid-flight; suspended in the air on a simple stand, one can easily forget that the black wire is there and pretend these vinyl beauties are flying around by their own secret power. While this might be the most immediately notable aspect, the character's name is "Super Weenie," able to attract lonely women with a single arrow! An arrow directing one's gaze towards the figure's… um… "package."

Walter did a great job of subtly modifying the Dunny form, to give the figures a sense of flight. With pointed feet and a bulging package, Super Weenie is ready to take on the single ladies of the world. I am still curious to what lies behind the mask, as it appears to be removable as seen in one of Walters teasers on Instagram.

Keep an eye out for more information surrounding the final release of the rest of the 40 blind boxes in the Superish series. Looks like they'll be going up for sale here.

Cycloptic Poo Monsters by Shadow Work Art

Jacob Reed, of Shadow Work Art has premiered his first serious resin effort, and it's a dook- er.. doozie! The Cycloptic Poo Monster is almost 2 inches tall and 1.5 wide, and you can get one of six still available in a random color for just $9 from the Shadow Work etsy store. You can also shoot for the painted, 1-off "Fecal Horror" shown above if you can squeeze out an even $20.

While you're there, check out the rest of Jacob's custom toys and other work! There is always a healthy variety of items at more than decent prices and he has a style that is fun in a slightly grotesque way. You can also follow him here on Facebook.

Rivet Wars: The Game - Funded by Kickstarter!

"What is Rivet Wars?"
"The once beautiful world of Rivet has been wracked by decades of war. The years of bombing, gassing, and stripping natural resources from the planet has taken its toll, turning its pastures into muddy, cratered-pocked no-man’s lands, and blackening the skies with soot and stench of factory smoke.
But the fight continues on. Technology has stagnated to a post-Industrial level, similar to those seen in WW1. Machineguns and primitive armored vehicles have been introduced without replacing the old ways and it’s not uncommon to see a cavalry charge of heavy horse lead by an 80 ton six legged dreadnought. Steam power is still widely accepted while other forces employ electricity or diesel or horse.
The many nations of Rivet have created various alliances. At the center of conflict lies the Imperial Blightun Empire a monarchy driven by the Mad Arch Duke and his uncle, the Kaiser. Ruling through fear and brutality, they see this conflict as a chance to extend their lands and they will employ any means, even poison gas attacks, to win the war. The Allies on the other hand are driven by their fight to survive. As independent nation states they see the Blightun Monarchs as a direct threat to their sovereignty. Meanwhile, still other factions are fighting for resources or because they see an opportunity arising out of the turmoil. National borders are ever changing and treaties—and fortunes–rise and fall daily." - RivetWars.com FAQ

In just 5 days, the Kickstarter Campaign for Rivet Wars will be over, and legions of fans around the globe will begin waiting for what is most perhaps the most ambitious miniatures board game ever launched by an independent toy maker. Luckily, you still have time to get behind it and secure a copy!

Rivet Wars was (and still is) a popular line of resin military miniatures, but the Kickstarter campaign will bring them to a wider audience as factory produced pieces, alongside the finished game. The original $25,000 goal was obliterated in mere days and now stands at $338,303 with 1,759 backers. This makes it one of the most successful games ever on Kickstarter and means that tons of incredible stretch goals have been met, meaning bigger and better options for your miniature army.

Jeff Beck's entries on Dave Webb's Blinded by Love series

Jeff Beck, who made these figures for the series, writes: I had a lot of fun with these did something a littler different with putting in the pipes to make the customs see through...

The Blue one is called "Warm Heart" because a warm heart can always melt the coldest person...
The Black/Grey one is called  "Cold Soul" because on the opposite end of love the bad experiences can make a person cold inside right down to their souls...

These are both 4" Munnys with Magic Sculpt and Acrylic Paint and will come in the Valentine themed Chinese Boxes and will come with a signed art card.
